The Group's repertoire comes from a long and painstaking work, made by research, weekly trainings and always supported by an unfaltering will of improvement, on cultural and technical level.

An important contribution on making the repertoire was given by the founders of the Group and especially by Mrs. Mira Conz. Under her loving leading the Cesio Folk took its first steps and, thanks to her, were recovered typical dances, texts and music of our past.

Since the beginning, Mira was supported by the nephew Rita Conz, that inherited from the aunt the great passion for folk traditions and, year by year became an important point of reference and an irreplaceable coordinator for many activities of the Group.

Her contribution during the phase of ideation and creation of the dances was essential; her job is documented by a large number of notes, jealously stored in the archive. On those pages there are all the studies of the choreographic figures that, during the trainings, were set up.

The Cesiomaggiore Folk Group dedicated to the music part of its repertoire, as much as for the dances and choreographies, a careful research and continuous improvement.
The melodies, inherited from the previous group, were collected, copied down and arranged by Renato Dal Cin, accordionist of the Group for many years.
During training evenings, with the help of dancers and other musicians, and the advices of the seniors, it was possible to complete all the dances, fitting some melodic sequences and respecting the original musical lines.
No changes were brought to the strictly original dances in repertoire.

The orchestra, made at the beginning by two accordions and, later, by accordion and guitar, was enriched and completed up to reach to the standard formation: two accordions, mandolin, guitar and double bass. During the years there were sporadic presence of other instruments like violin and clarinet.
The repertoire is completed by some songs, played by the Group in a simple and popular way, without claims of polyphonic choir, but always spontaneous and involving.

Up till now, according its repertoire, the Group offers again jobs, life conditions, typical characters of the past and of the village life, giving the possibility, for the new generations, to keep in contact with their own forbears and, for the old people, to live moments for their youth again. All the dances remember a sound, simple and unpretentious way of enjoying themselves.

The show, besides to be a moment of entertainment and fun, has an important didactic aim too, being a demonstration of the folk traditions and of the dresses of the village peoples living in the Feltre – Belluno valley at the end of nineteenth beginning of twentieth century.
Here we are going to shortly describe the dances that are part of the Group's repertoire.
