The main aim of this dance is to recall one of the most typical and original way of past times socialization: the "filò" (a evening get-together).

Especially during the winter months, in the evening people met in the stables to chat and make some jobs.

People were making tools for everyday life, they were repairing the equipment for the working season (pitchforks, rakes, sickles, spades, hoes ...), they made brooms and brushes, they bottomed chairs with straw, they knitted, they darned the used dresses, they span, they prayed, they told stories and legends, ... and there were even some little time to flirt.

For choreographic reasons were chosen six of this works and that's why the dance is called "Bal dei sie mistier" (The six works dance).
